Funding Opportunities & Links:

  • Tide Gate Project Planning and Construction Grant and Loan Program.
Business Oregon has funding available for tide gate project planning and construction. Planning project awards are intended to result in shovel-ready projects with all permitting/regulatory, engineering, landowner coordination, and feasibility documentation completed through the study scope. Additionally, tide gate construction projects that demonstrate shovel-readiness may be awarded funding.
  • OWEB Technical Assistance Grants
Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB) Technical Assistance Grants are available to fund the development of technical designs or the development of an implementation plan for tide gate upgrade projects.
  • OWEB Restoration Grants
OWEB Restoration Grants are available to fund projects that work toward achieving restoration priorities. This includes projects that result in fish passage improvement, habitat restoration, structure removal, modification, or installation, and other benefits that tide gate upgrade projects provide.
  • ODFW Fish Screening and Passage Grant Program
ODFW’s Fish Passage Program has limited funds for fish passage projects, including tide gates.
  • National Coastal Resilience Fund
The National Coastal Resilient Fund (NCRF) restores, increases, and strengthens natural infrastructure to project coastal communities while also enhancing habitats for fish and wildlife.
  • Coastal Wetland Grants
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) National Coastal Wetlands Conservation Grant Program (NCWCGP) was established to acquire, restore, and enhance wetlands in coastal states through competitive matching grants to state agencies. The primary goal of the NCWCGP is the long‐term conservation of coastal wetland ecosystems. Only legislatively approved state agencies may submit applications to the NCWCGP. Since 2013, OWEB has been an approved agency. OWEB serves as the official grantee of the federal award and makes the federal funds available to local conservation and restoration partners through sub-grants. All sub-grants are subject to the Rules and guidelines of OWEB’s grant programs.
